Kendal Lawn Tennis Club

Coronavirus Update

To ensure the continuing safety of members at this stage our club house remains closed. Please do not use it. We want to limit the possibilities for spreading the virus as much as we can. This means there are no toilet facilities, you will need to bring your own drinks, balls, rackets and provide your own first aid kit too if necessary.

Government guidance now allows

• Singles play between 2 people who don’t need to come from the same household.

• Doubles play – BUT ONLY IF all players are from the same household

• This assumes players are maintaining all govt. advice on social distancing and hygiene.

To play on the Kendal courts

  • Members will already know the process for getting onto the courts through club emails.

  • Please bring your own balls and ensure they’re marked so they don’t get mixed up with anyone else’s. If you want to be extra safe each player should bring their own, well-marked balls, and only pick up their own tennis balls for service games.

  • We will try to ensure the nets are at around the correct height. But if you are keen to be accurate please bring a tape measure.

  • Please ensure you wash your hands before coming to the club, wipe down net winders, the gate and anything else you touch. Please look after yourself and respect the space of other members.

You can only play on the courts if you are a paid up member of the club so if you haven’t got around to renewing your club membership yet, now is the perfect time. You can do that here:

And while the current restrictions for COVID19 remain in place we’re happy for you to play with other members of your household who aren’t members of the club so everyone can get out and get some exercise. We will review this once the current restrictions change.

Jon Griffin our club coach is now available to take bookings again for one to one coaching sessions. Please contact him here for coaching enquires. He aims to be working on the Kendal courts weekday mornings.  [email protected]
