Kendal Lawn Tennis Club

AGM

Our AGM is being held on Tuesday the 12th of November at 7.30 in the club house. Please come along and have your say in how our club is run. We'll also be awarding the Harold Walker Trophy for most improved junior player.

Club Sessions - Tuesday, Friday + Sunday

Winter club nights are a fantastic way to get some exercise and fresh air in through the autumn and winter months.

This winter we’re bringing back club nights on Fridays too. We’ve run these in the past and with our new WhatsApp group, see below, it means that even if there’re only 4 people able to play they can still be sure there’ll be someone else down.

A reminder too that floodlights are free on club nights!

Tues and Friday evening:
From 6.30.
Sunday afternoon: From 2.00.

British Tennis and Wimbledon 2020

Every year we get an allocation of Wimbledon tickets for our members to buy. If you want to get hold of a couple for 2020 you must be a member of British Tennis. It will give you the option to opt into the Wimbledon ballot and you need to do this. If you're not a member already, please join and opt in. The more members our club has who've opted in the more tickets we get for Wimbledon.
Join here. It's easy: https://www.lta.org.uk/member/

Then please contact Gillian Cochrane, club secretary, to register your interest in purchasing tickets gill.ian@uwclub.net

Sorry this seems so complex. British Tennis is in charge of organising it, not us!

Floodlights

We have floodlights on all of our courts so you can enjoy playing tennis right through the winter in the evenings. It's a great way to get a bit of fresh air after a day at work.

If you would like to buy tokens for the floodlights they cost £1.50 each and last for half an hour. So that’s £3 - or less than a pound each - for an hour’s worth of doubles. Get them from Caz 07949244695 or Veronica. We’ll try to have some with us at club night.

WhatsApp

We’ve set up a Club Night WhatsApp group. It’s working really well and means that there’s a much better turnout because you know you won’t end up hanging around the courts on your own in the vague that hope someone else is on their way. You will know who’s coming. How does it work? Well, everyone who fancies playing at club night joins it and can let each other know if they’ll be there.

If you want to join, and we’d really advise it, please let us know by emailing:
